Will USPS give me my package if I don't have the "notice" they usually leave?

-I ordered some Blu Rays on Amazon a week ago and I checked on Amanzon today. On Tuesday USPS tried a ''Delivery Attempt and the current status is ''in transit'' (It's been like that since Tue. night) the expected delivery was the 14th. There was no Note/paper left on my door, maybe someone took it down. What can I do? Can I call USPS and give them my Tracking# or something to proof to them that it is indeed my package? Please Help! Thank You
